There are very few people in this lifetime who walk beside you through every meaningful chapter of your becoming. Lisa is one of those rare souls for me.
Since 1999, we have experienced teacher trainings together, and she stepped into work alongside me at Yogani Studios. She became an integral part of the heart and direction of our programming, teaching, supporting, and helping to shape the space with clarity and care. Our professional collaboration grew organically out of a shared vision: that yoga is not just a practice, but a way of being in service to others.
For over 18 years, Lisa has been a devoted and steady presence within the Exalted Warrior Foundation, offering yoga and meditation to veterans and their caregivers with deep compassion and skill. She meets people exactly where they are, with respect, dignity, and genuine care, and carries the essence of yoga not just in how she teaches, but in how she listens, how she holds space, and how she serves. She radiates an intuitive depth, a sincerity, and a devotion to the practice that feels both grounded and expansive.
Lisa’s heart for service extends into every phase of life. She supported my mother during her final years in an assisted living community in South Tampa, bringing comfort, presence, and dignity into that sacred time. It was through this chapter that she began expanding her work with seniors, offering chair yoga and adaptive practices with the same reverence and intentionality she brings to all populations.
We became pregnant around the same time, walking together through the sacred thresholds of motherhood, pregnancy, birth, and the raising of our children. We have witnessed one another in moments of expansion, vulnerability, strength, and surrender. These shared experiences wove a bond between us that goes far beyond friendship. It is sisterhood in its truest form. This began her tremendous programming in caring for women through prenatal and Mommy & Me classes, trainings, and workshops. She is a steward of the human experience for women in all ages and stages.
What moves me most is that through all the seasons we’ve shared, the childbearing years, the striving and building, the losses we’ve endured, including the passing of our parents, and now the witnessing of our children growing into their own lives, we have continued to evolve.
Today, our collaboration feels more meaningful than ever. We are rooted in decades of shared experience, yet still open, curious, and committed to growth. Together, we continue to develop programming and offer support to those who need it most, guided by our love for the ancient traditions of yoga and our belief in its power to heal, connect, and transform.
Lisa is not only a remarkable teacher. She is a woman of integrity, depth, and unwavering devotion.
